Thesis BEAM had been grinding higher since mid-September. On 4 Oct it broke the 0.002248 level (the 25 Sep high) on 165M volume, about 8x normal. It spiked to 0.003052 but closed at 0.002535, leaving a 60% upper wick, and today it pushed to 0.002743 and got sold back to the 0.0025 round number. Price is 22% above the 20-day EMA and the daily RSI is 76, so buying here means paying for the spike. The better entry is a pullback toward the old breakout zone around 0.0023, with a stop under the breakout day's opening low of 0.002127. Crowd read Two days in a row with long upper wicks after a near-vertical move means early buyers are selling into the chasers who arrived on the headlines. Late buyers from 0.0027–0.0030 are now trapped and will sell near break-even. That usually means a shakeout back toward the breakout level before any second leg. Watch for Wait for a pullback into 0.00225–0.00235 on falling volume, then a 4h candle with a long lower wick that closes back above 0.0023. Buy only after that. If price instead closes a day above 0.00275 on volume, the trapped sellers have been absorbed. Then reassess for a move toward 0.00305 rather than chasing the first push. Wrong if A daily close back below 0.00225 would mean the breakout has failed and the spike was just a wick. Also invalid: the pullback comes on rising sell volume and no lower wicks show up around 0.0023. Exit rules none set Managed exit (half at 1R, trail 1R) not filled yet
Screener volume wake scored 69 (reasons were not kept on this call) Project BEAM is the gaming and Web3 chain token, with 87.7% of supply circulating and little unlock overhang visible. A news story confirms the roughly 35% one-day jump on 4 Oct, but I found no listing, partnership, hack or unlock behind it. It is not trending on CoinGecko. Price is 94% below its March 2024 all-time high. Risks · The quote volume on Kraken BEAM/USD is only about $228k over 24 hours against roughly $50M in total volume, so the move is happening elsewhere. Kraken fills and stops can slip badly on thin books. · The two upper wicks at 0.00305 and 0.00274 already mark where sellers are waiting, so target1 at 0.0028 sits right under that supply. · No catalyst was found. A pump with no news often fades all the way back into the September range around 0.0020. · Breadth is weak (34% of the top 200 up today, total market cap down 2%) and Fear & Greed is at 70. Breakouts in Greed fail more often. · The 25 Sep wick down to 0.001461 shows this book can flush 30% in one candle, so a stop at 0.00209 could get hit by a sudden wick.
