Thesis
On 2 Oct GALA broke out of its September range above 0.00243 on about 10x normal volume (574M). Since then it has been knocked back from 0.00275 twice (0.002758 and 0.002747), and both times the upper wicks sold off. Price is now sliding through 0.0025 towards the old 0.00243 breakout level, with lower highs on the 4h and volume that rises on the drops. A retest of 0.00243 that holds would be a reasonable long. But a falling 4h structure and the drop below the 0.0025 round number say sellers still have control, so this is not a buy yet.
Crowd read
The breakout-day buyers who chased above 0.0026 are now underwater. They have sold every bounce towards 0.00275, which is classic early distribution after a single-day volume spike. If 0.00243 holds with dips getting bought, those sellers run out and a third test of 0.00275 usually breaks. If it fails, the breakout turns into a trap and price drifts back into the 0.0022 range.
Watch for
Price tagging 0.00243–0.0025 and printing a 4h candle with a long lower wick, then a 4h close back above 0.00256 (breaking the lower-high series) on 4h volume above average. Without that reclaim, do not fill the bid blind. A clean daily close back above 0.0026 would confirm buyers have absorbed the supply and open a third test of 0.00275.
Wrong if
A 4h close below 0.00243 on rising volume, or a daily close below 0.0024, means the breakout has failed and the move from 2 Oct was a one-day spike being unwound. Another 4h rejection under 0.00255 before the retest would also weaken the setup.

Project
I found no material news from the last two weeks: no unlocks, listings, delistings or hacks surfaced. Circulating supply is already about 100% of total, so unlock pressure is minimal. The cause of the 2 Oct volume spike is unclear. Recent project activity is routine game updates (Mirandus, Daily Delvers) and earlier GalaSwap V2 liquidity pools. Listed in the DWF Labs portfolio category, which has historically come with sharp spikes and fades.
Risks
· Kraken GALA/USD only did about $348k of quote volume in 24h, so the book is thin. Fills near 0.00246 can slip, and the stop can be wicked through on a single sell order.
· Two clear rejections at 0.00275 with heavy upper wicks: supply is sitting there, and target1 sits just under it.
· The stop is about 4% away against an 8% daily ATR, so an ordinary dip can stop the trade out even if the thesis is right.
· The market is softening: total market cap is down 2% on the day, only 35% of the top 200 are green, Fear & Greed is still in Greed (70) and falling, and GALA's 1d strength against BTC has turned negative.
