Thesis ADA broke the 0.2684 high from 4 Oct yesterday on 2.3x volume. At 09:00 today it spiked to 0.2825 on the biggest 15m bar of the session, and the next bar gave the whole move back. Since then it has made lower highs (0.2799, then 0.2760, then 0.2749) and is drifting to 0.2717 on rising sell volume, so it is not holding the spike, just bleeding. The trade is a bid near the breakout level at 0.2684, with the stop under the 06:00 swing low of 0.2667. That pays 2.1:1 back to the 0.278 shelf where price stalled midday. Crowd read Buyers who chased the 09:00 spike are now sitting on losses and selling into every bounce. The daily chart is stretched: RSI 70, 11% above the EMA20, three green days and a long upper wick, with Fear & Greed on Greed (73). That usually ends in a flush back to the breakout level before anyone defends it, so the price to buy is lower than here. Watch for Bid 0.2695 only if price sweeps toward 0.2684 to 0.2690 and a 15m bar prints a long lower wick on rising volume (absorption). Alternatively, a 15m close back above 0.2760 on more than 1.5x volume shows the sellers are spent; I would treat that as a separate momentum call, not this one. If price closes an hour below 0.2675, stand aside. Wrong if A 1h close back under 0.2675 means the breakout has failed: the move from 0.2684 was a fake-out and 0.25 to 0.26 comes back into play. A fill at the limit that goes nowhere also counts, because bought dips at a real retest should bounce fast. Exit rules · close below 0.2675 (1h): Back under the 0.2684 breakout level: the retest failed · btc drop pct 3.0: Total market cap is already down 2.3% on the day; a BTC slide takes the alts with it · no progress hours 8.0: A real retest bounce should show inside a session; if it hasn't by then, the level isn't being defended Managed exit (half at 1R, trail 1R) not filled yet
Screener fresh breakout scored 70 · long upper wick: sellers met the break · breakout yesterday on 1.8x volume · retesting breakout level (+1.4% from it) · +9% vs BTC on the week Project Recent news is all positive and no negative catalyst turned up. Hashdex's Nasdaq Crypto Index ETF added ADA, ADA joined a Mastercard payments partnership in mid-September, and there were Petrobras-related headlines. I found no unlocks, hacks or delistings. The supply is about 83% circulating with a slow, predictable release. ADA is not on CoinGecko's trending list, so retail attention is not at a peak. It is a large cap with a deep Kraken book: round trip is about 0.04% at £2,000, which is negligible against a 1.5% stop. Risks · Today's 0.2825 spike-and-reverse on 4M volume looks like supply. If that seller is still there, a bounce from 0.2695 may stall well below 0.278. · The daily chart is extended (RSI 70, 11% above the EMA20), so a deeper mean reversion toward 0.26 could slice straight through the retest level. · Market breadth is weak: the median top-200 coin is flat on the week, total market cap is down 2.3% today and BTC has rejected near $87k. ADA is outperforming, but in a market that isn't going anywhere. · The limit may never fill if price grinds sideways at 0.271 to 0.273, which is fine, but the setup then becomes chop rather than a clean retest.
