Thesis ADA pushed through its 20-day high (0.2684) today on about 2x volume. It is leading BTC by 6% on the week and 16% on the month, and there is no overhead supply on the 90-day chart. The breakout is not clean yet. The 12:00 4h candle was rejected at 0.2766 on heavy volume and closed back under 0.2684, so today's daily candle carries a 37% upper wick. Price sits 11% above EMA20 with daily RSI at 69. That makes the better trade a retest of the old ceiling around 0.263-0.265, with a stop under the breakout candle's low (0.2577) and a target just under the 0.30 round number, about 4.6R. Chasing at 0.27 with the same stop gives only about 2.1R into a level that has just rejected. Crowd read This is early markup, not FOMO yet: two green days, not trending on CoinGecko, and only six top-200 coins up 10% on the day. The first test of 0.2766 brought out sellers. Wherever the crowd sits, it usually shakes out back to the breakout level before chasers commit. Fear & Greed at 70 means breakouts tend to fail more often, so it pays to wait for the dip to be bought rather than pay up. Watch for First, tonight's 00:00 UTC daily close needs to hold above 0.2684. Then, on a pullback into 0.263-0.266, look for a 4h candle with a long lower wick that closes back above 0.2684 on lighter selling volume. That is the entry. Alternatively, a 4h close above 0.2770 on volume above 12M would confirm the breakout. In that case, enter on the first shallow dip, keeping the stop at 0.2565. Wrong if The daily closes back below 0.2600, or a 4h candle closes under 0.2577 (the breakout candle's low). Either would mean the breakout was a one-day wick grab and the 0.24-0.26 range has taken back control. Exit rules none set Managed exit (half at 1R, trail 1R) not filled yet
Screener fresh breakout scored 85 (reasons were not kept on this call) Project Nothing negative in the last two weeks: no unlock, hack or delisting. Recent headlines are a Mastercard partnership for cross-border/B2B settlement (15 Sep), a Petrobras-related deal and a Japan deal, all from the past three weeks. ADA was sitting on its 200-day moving average (~0.243) on 2 Oct before this push. Supply is 83% circulating, no unlock overhang. Risks · Rejected at 0.2766 on the 12:00 4h candle with 15.7M volume. If tonight's daily closes under 0.2684, the breakout fails. · Price may never pull back to 0.264 and could run to 0.28+ without a fill. That is an acceptable miss. · BTC is still struggling around $86-87K and total market cap was down 1.8% on the day. A BTC flush would drag ADA back into its range regardless of its relative strength. · ADA is down about 72% over the year, so supply from holders above 0.30 will meet any push toward the round number. · The news flow (Mastercard, Petrobras, Japan) is already priced into the 30% rally since mid-September, so there is no fresh catalyst left.
