Thesis CVX is forming an ascending triangle. The daily lows keep rising (1.794, 1.866, 1.91, 1.979, 2.042) under a flat ceiling at 2.38-2.39, and today was the third rejection at that ceiling (9/29 at 2.391, 10/2 at 2.387, 10/5 at 2.384). Today's flush to 2.042 came on 3x normal volume and was bought straight back to 2.23, which shows dips are being absorbed. The trigger is a daily close above 2.40. A sensible structural stop sits below today's 4h shelf at 2.20, and the 90-day high at 2.69 is only about 1.4R from a 2.40 entry. That is under 2:1, so this stays a watch until a breakout candle gives a tighter stop. Crowd read Nobody cares about CVX right now. It is 96% below its all-time high, not trending, 32k watchlist users, and the crowd is ignoring it while someone quietly buys every flush. Tops tested three times with rising lows underneath usually give way on the next push. Trapped buyers from early September at 2.45-2.54 will sell into the first move above, though. Watch for A 4h close above 2.40, followed by a daily close above 2.39 on volume at least 1.5x average. Then a hold above 2.35 on the next 4h candles, which would let the stop tighten to the breakout candle's low and push reward-to-risk toward 2:1 against 2.69. The alternative is a pullback that holds the 2.20-2.21 shelf and shows another lower-wick rejection, which would set up a cleaner entry near 2.22-2.25 with a stop at 2.14. Wrong if A daily close back under 2.15, or a loss of today's 2.042 wick low, breaks the higher-low sequence and turns the triangle into a range top. A fourth rejection at 2.38-2.39 on falling volume also kills it. Exit rules none set Managed exit (half at 1R, trail 1R) not filled yet
Screener volume wake scored 61 (reasons were not kept on this call) Project My search found nothing material: no hack, unlock, listing or delisting news in the last two weeks. About 93% of supply is circulating against a 100M hard cap, so dilution from unlocks is not a concern. Today's 3x volume flush to 2.042 has no news I could find behind it. Risks · Supply from early September sits at 2.43-2.54 (9/1-9/2 highs at 2.539 and 2.532). A break of 2.39 can stall there before it reaches 2.69. · CVX is lagging BTC badly (-10.7% relative strength over 30 days), so this is not a leader. A BTC pullback from Greed (F&G 70) would probably drag it under the coil. · Kraken's CVX/USD book is thin, about $490k of quote volume in 24h. Wicks like today's 2.042 can stop out a tight stop with no real change in structure. · Today's daily ATR is about 7.8%, so any structural stop is wide relative to the nearby targets.
