Thesis ORCA broke the 1.859 high from 27 Sep yesterday on about 3.5x volume. Today it spiked to 2.20 and sold straight back to 2.00, leaving a 79% upper wick on the daily. It has climbed steadily from 1.30 to 2.00 in a month (+56%), sits 20% above its 20-day EMA, and daily RSI is 74. That makes it stretched, not early, and buying at market here means buying under a wick that just rejected. The better trade is a pullback to the 1.86–1.88 breakout level. Buying there puts the stop under the breakout candle's 1.784 low with about 3:1 to just below 2.20. Crowd read Late buyers piled into the move above 2.00 and got hit at 2.20. Someone with size was selling into the spike, and the people who bought the top are now underwater, waiting to get out at break-even. After a rejection like this following a month-long run, price usually shakes out back toward the breakout level before any second attempt. Watch for Look for a pullback into 1.86–1.90 on falling volume and a 4h close that holds above 1.86, ideally with long lower wicks showing dips being bought. Separately, if price reclaims 2.05 and closes a 4h candle above 2.20 on more than 2x average 4h volume, the retest idea is dead and it becomes a breakout to re-check, not something to chase blindly. Wrong if A daily close back below 1.84 would mean the breakout failed and buyers are trapped above. A close under 1.80 means the September range has taken back the move. Also invalid if price instead rallies straight up through 2.20 on strong volume without retesting, because then this entry never fills and the setup has changed. Screener fresh breakout scored 79 (reasons were not kept on this call) Project I found nothing material in the last two weeks: no unlock, listing, hack or lawsuit showed up. Older items include Bitvavo ORCA staking (August) and reports of tokenized-stock volume and revenue growth on Orca. Orca is a Solana DEX, 81% of supply is circulating, and price is still 90% below its 2021 all-time high. It is not on CoinGecko's trending list, so retail attention has not peaked yet. Risks · The 2.20 wick is fresh supply. The first retest of it is likely to reject again, which caps target1. · Liquidity on Kraken's ORCA/USD is only about $392k a day, against about $120M market cap, so slippage on thin books can be large and a few sellers can push price through the stop. · There is no clear news behind the pump. A move without a catalyst in a Greed (70) market with flat breadth (median alt -0.01% on the day) can fade fully. · There may be no retest at all: price could hold 1.95–2.05 and grind higher, leaving the order unfilled. · About 19% of supply is not yet circulating (FDV $149M vs $120M market cap), so emissions or treasury selling could weigh on rallies.
